(This short story has no name. No real plot or anything. Just a quick story that happens about 3-4 years after the first meeting between Angelina and Ambrose in the alley. Refer to my other short for details. Now, feel the luff… )

I dread it. The change. Every full moon strikes down upon me like a blast, then… oh then, the agony.

I feel my legs give out as my knee moves further up my leg, almost connecting with my hip. As I fall to the ground, I see my hands and the gray fur that prickles as it courses over them and up my body.

I can feel numerous cracks go throughout my torso as my rib cage revolves and settles into its newer form. And then, the most painful part, as my spine extends itself, pushing through the skin and cracking into segments. My tail.

My eyes begin to dim and red disappears entirely. Everything green switches to blue and I’m lost in a kaleidoscope of movement. Movement that I can see more clearly than the gentle hand that grabs my muzzle.

“Ambrose.”

I look up into the shining blue eyes looking down upon me.

“Promise me, Ambrose that you won’t hurt anyone.”

I wish I could scream to her that I can’t always control this form. But, the vocal cords of a wolf don’t permit me to say even a single human syllable.

Sighing, Angelina reached around me and hugged me close.

“I know, Ambrose. You hate this night. But it is a part of who you are. I accept it, can’t you?”

I shook my head. One of the few things I could do.

“Then. Enjoy your night. And if you harm anyone. I don’t want to hear it. I want you to come back and be the sweet man I always knew.”

I gave a light growl of approval and began padding away from her.

I could feel her eyes watching me. Knowing that as soon as I stepped outside, I’d lose all control.

How I wish I could go back… Back before that day that I first changed. But then, I never would have met her. Met my sweet Angelina.

I pushed on the door and it swung open. Without a glance back, I bounded off.

“Ambrose. Ambrose. Wake up.”

I felt a hand run along my cheek and down over my neck and shoulder.

“Angelina?”

“Of course. Who else would it be?”

“Did I…”

“There has been no word from anyone. And besides, you ran off to the woods. Not the town last night.”

I sighed.

“It was a full transformation then. Not a half one.”

“Yes. A full.”

“I wish I didn’t change to that beast.”

“Ambrose! He is not a beast. He is you. He…”

“No! Angelina. I am NOT that monster.”

I sat up and swung my feet off the bed. Pinching the bridge of my nose, I sighed deeply.

“I… don’t know how you could love a murderer…”

“You’ve no control!”

“But…” I continued as if I hadn’t heard her. “I cannot. I condemn that thing. As much as I condemn myself for being its vassal.”

“Ambrose…” She spoke in such a pitiful voice I’d hardly recognized it.

“I’m sorry, Angelina. I just can’t… think of it as anything more than what it is.”

“No. I’m sorry Ambrose. I should’ve realized you wouldn’t want me to love you completely.”

I turned to her with fury behind my next words.

“I do want your love. I want as much as I give to you!” I reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her fiercely to me. “Don’t ever think I don’t. I don’t know why you give your love to me, but I’d not give it up for the world.”

I kissed her lightly before pulling away.

“I… we’re still very young. I… can’t accept that thing as a part of me right now, but maybe… over time. I’ll come to understand why I change.”

I see her begin to smile again, and I feel the pounding in my heart and body grow.

“That’s true. We are still young. And if that’s true…” She snaked her arms around me and pulled closer. “Shouldn’t we act it?”

Knowing exactly her moods and feelings after only a few years together, I realized what she wished.

“Of course…”

I then gave my entire attention to her, as she did to me.

It’s always like that the morning after. Like he still has some of that animal instinct in him.

I rubbed lightly on my tender side, where his love began to become a bit rougher. Of course, that’s what makes it more fun to be with him.

I looked upon the lean, but muscular body lying beside me and follow the contours of every muscle with a finger.

He moans slightly as I reach lower upon him. And then, he startles me by snatching my wrist before I can follow through on making the moans louder.

“You’re going to break me one of these days. How you have so much energy, I’ll never understand.”

“It comes from having an enthusiastic lover.”

He looked me in the eyes, then hung his head and sighed angrily.

“I hurt you again.”

“No. I’m not hurt. You didn’t bite this time. Just pressed a bit too hard.” I see him about to say something else when I cover his lips with a finger. “No, Ambrose. I will be fine. I know what you’re like the morning after. I choose this. Not you.”

“Sometimes I wonder if it’s the thrill you’re after. In which case, I guess I should be glad you at least wait until I’m human again.”

I smile teasingly, knowing full well that we’ve had this part of the conversation before.

“But… you must admit. It’d be quite an experience to see if I could fit you as your were-form.”

“Angelina!”

He gave me a look of mock surprise.

I grinned at him and kissed him sweetly.

“But then. You’re so big in that form, I doubt I could anyway.”

His cheeks turned a light dust of rose and I ruffled his short blond hair.

“I’m only kidding, dear boy.”

“Boy! I’m three years your senior, little lady.”

“Little! I’ll show you little!”

I knew he’d done that on purpose. It was his way of teasing me when he was recovered from our last session to go for another.

I shivered in ecstasy as his hands slid over me.

“Never leave me, Ambrose.”

“I never shall.”
