Birth Name:  Amaki

Maiko Name:  Katsumiyo

Age: 16

Skin Color: creamy olive

Hair Color:  A deep, multi-faceted brown.  (Though for special performances it would be dyed black with ink)

Eye Color:  Olive-green

Height:  5'6" (unusually tall for a woman)
Description:  Amaki is tall and lean.  She retains what most people would described as a dancers' build: not curvy, but tight, lean muscles as opposed to being skinny.  Every move she makes is careful and calculated, executed with a defined grace and deliberateness.  Outside of her geisha make up she is not exceptionally attractive, though still retains a haunting elegance.  Her eyes are deep set and curious, framed with long dark lashes.  Her lips are thin and she has a defined, graceful jawline and chin.  Her skin color is a lighter, creamier olive than most humans in her province.  Coupled with her brown hair, once might suspect of her a mixed heritage.

Katsumiyo the Maiko

Amaki was formerly very well known in the Imperial district as Katsumiyo, one of the provinces fastest-rising stars.  The maiko (apprentice/virgin Geisha) was renowned mostly for her stunning fan-dancing.  Arguably one of best dancers in the generation, Katsumiyo's dances were in very high demand.  She specialized in fan dancing and fan-twirling, mastering fast paced routines that involved up to six smaller fans, or more languid, serene performances with giant paper fans almost as large as the dancer herself.  However, the thing that gave Katusmiyo an edge over even the most talented dancers in the province was her contortionism.  Naturally double joined and remarkably flexible, Katusumiyo's full contortion abilities were never allowed to be displayed due to the appropriateness of the movement involved.  Regardless, Katusumiyo's dances often included her bending over completely backwards at the hips, or sitting on her knees and being able to lay her upper body flat against the floor at nearly any angle.  After her mizuage sold for one of the highest prices on record, the maiko disappeared before the ceremony could be held.  According to her okiya, the future famous geisha never returned home after returning from a tea ceremony.  They fear she was kidnapped, but have yet to receive a ransom request.  Some back-ally rumors say she ran away, while others claim she committed some crime that made her flee the okiya in shame.
