Sabin Duvert: ((yosh))
Kalindaralaea
: ((Mwaha! I take it you've read Roth's posts?))
Sabin Duvert: ((Ack - not yet XD - lemme do so real quick))
Kalindaralaea
: ((No worries. Just basically his sword half-buried in the foyer floor, if/when Mor enters.))
Sabin Duvert: ((aaahhh.... oki))
Sabin Duvert
: ((shall I go read first?))
Kalindaralaea
: ((Hmm... might be good.))
Kalindaralaea: http://bildeau.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=933849&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=195
Kalindaralaea: ((it's not too long))
Sabin Duvert: alright
Sabin Duvert
: Give me a -few- mins - I have some blinkies on AIM to get rid of and am posting my submission to Rik's art contest :-)
Kalindaralaea: kk
Sabin Duvert: ((yosh - I read :-) ))
Sabin Duvert
: ((Poor 'roth))
Kalindaralaea
: ((*pets Roth* It will work out. And if they don't make up before the teen quest, he'll be after a different kind of making up once it's over and he has all his memories back... >:3 ))
Sabin Duvert: *It's mid morning the day after the library infiltration. Mordath did not sleep well the night before between the paranoia of Arkoth's actions, worry for Purr, and guilt about Astaroth. After setting down his journal with a heavy sigh, he stood up, determined to at least fix the problems that he could now - or at least try. He gathered up his things, left his father a quick note, and headed back out towards Kali's, where despite the fact he was only here a few days ago, it seems like so much longer*
Sabin Duvert
: *He takes a breath, and raps a few times on the large door*
Kalindaralaea
: Hearing a knock at the door, Kali paused in replacing books on the shelf in the lounge room. Entering the foyer, she sidestepped around the sword and opened the door. Recognising Mordath from his last visit, she studied him curiously. Was this another library visit, or was this about Roth's very strange behaviour?
Kalindaralaea: Apart from the out-of-place sword, behind Kali in the lounge room, books and dvds are strewn everywhere around the room.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath looks up at Kali with red eyes that seem to contain a lot of spinning emotions, and a hesitant expression on his face. He glances briefly to the sword driven into the stone, and a confused and further worried look crosses his face before he looks back to Kali* Is.... Astaroth here..?
Kalindaralaea
: Kali's expression isn't very forthcoming, as she still isn't sure of just what the heck is going on. "He is," she answered. "He's out the back, in the gardens. This way," she turned and began making her way through the house. "I should warn you is isn't talking though. Or doing much of anything, other than making a mess."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath swallows and nods... at her comments his expression darkens more and his eyes travel to his feet and the grain in the stone - uncharacterically avoiding the objects around the shelves and Kali's face*
Kalindaralaea
: Kali's expression darkened as she noticed Mordath's behaviour. She kept her mouth shut though - this was Astaroth's business and at least Mordath was here for something. Maybe it could be fixed... maybe she'd only make things worse. She'd see how it was when Mordath was leaving.
Kalindaralaea: Opening a door at the back of the house, Kali gestured Mordath through. "He's either near the pond, or in the clearing where he normally trains."
Sabin Duvert: *he nods and glances through quickly before quietly whispering* "thank you"
Sabin Duvert
: *He pads quietly out through the door and out into the garden area, shielding the sun from his eyes as he looks for Astaroth*
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth is lazing on the edge of the clearing, under the semi-shade of a maple tree. His eyes are closed, he leans back on the trunk and seems very rRoth had been training with a new weapon.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath hesitates for a moment, standing and watching him before finally spurring himself to talk, knowing sitting here and doing nothing will accomplish just that*
Sabin Duvert
: *he clears his voice quietly* .... Astaroth..? *he whispers hesitantly*
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth's face shifted into a frown. His eyes opened minutely and flickered over to where Mordath stood before closing again.
Kalindaralaea: ((With his "no touchy" thing, he'll find it harder to ignore Mordath the closer he gets ^_~ ))
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath sighs, trying to think what to say, and shoves his hands into his pockets - this confirming his worries that Arkoth is indeed upset*
Sabin Duvert
: ((heh))
Sabin Duvert
: Astaroth... I... didn't realize until too late how badly you would take what happened yesterday.... and I should have known..... but.... *he sighs, trying to think what to say and wishing he had given the words more thought*
Sabin Duvert
: I didn't mean what I said to you.... I was playing an act... I thought you knew that...
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth's eyes flicker again, slightly annoyed this time. Tilting his head back to let the snlight play on his face he said, "A man who lies, manipulates and..." - what was that word he'd picked up from Kali's books? Oh yes - "flirts with someone for information will find out a lot about himself. But not what he is looking for, I think."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath's expression turns to a scowl as he approaches Astaroth, stewing* I was -not- flirting with her.... I believe that was mostly one-directional.... and I did not lie per se... I was merely trying to decipher whom she believed me to be at the time....
Sabin Duvert
: I was -this- close, Arkoth....
Sabin Duvert
: I have heard only the briefest of glints of truth as to who I -am- in all the time I've been alive...
Sabin Duvert
: and once... for once, there it was... sitting right there...
Sabin Duvert
: taunting me with all the information I could need.... But.... *his shoulders slump*
Sabin Duvert
: I couldn't just ask... not without shattering the opportunity
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth began to look a bit less comfortable as Mordath got closer, but this tended to convert itself to annoyance. "So, it wasn't really worth it after all, was it?" he asked snidely. "Pretending to be someone you're not, letting that, that <whore> throw herself at you... didn't even get you what you wanted."
Kalindaralaea: * assume the italic and bracketed is in Chinese
Sabin Duvert: ((ah, so he wouldn't understand))
Sabin Duvert
: *Mordath snarls a bit in annoyance* I thought you of ALL people would understand the measures it sometimes takes to get answers, Astaroth. You flirt with dark magics and knowledge as much as I - but when it comes to practicing them you suddenly turn into Mr. Morals?
Kalindaralaea
: ((he could make a very good guess...))
Sabin Duvert: And I -was- acting myself - I was trying to -discover- myself!
Sabin Duvert
: Who I -was-!
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth looked like he was going to snarl back for a moment... but then he took a deep breath and calmed himself, icing over again. It was a cold, calm voice that answered, "I'm evil... not contemptible. I have my own form of honour, at least for the people I regarded as my allies."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath's eyes narrow* I had assumed that you would understand what I was doing. Beyond that, you threatened my sister when she was ill. You are not my only ally, Astaroth, and I was doing what I could to keep -both- of you safe.
Sabin Duvert
: She was not in her correct frame of mind - she was not living in the present, but instead in her life past... do you know who she was?!
Kalindaralaea
: "Your ally?" the cold voice scoffed. "Really? If that is the way you treat your allies..." The voice broke off and Astaroth shook his head. "And in case it escaped your notice, that 'sister' of yours attacked me first. I do not care why, insults must be avenged. You made me lose my honour... are you happy?"
Sabin Duvert: A slap is hardly an attack, Astaroth - in her frame of mine you offended her.... and you slighted -her- honor... I was attempting to play the mediator as best I could while not confusing her further.
Sabin Duvert
: She is the one for whom we traveled to the library for - for whom we are seeking a cure....
Sabin Duvert
: Arkoth's magics is somehow putting her in the frame of mind of the past, where she was a queen....
Sabin Duvert
: Queen Titania.
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth smiled slightly - it was not a pretty smile. "I don't think your friend Morion agreed with your choice of actions. You may have lost more than you realised, in your rush to discover who you are."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath snarls to himself* Morion was doing just as much to try to neutralize the situation - I think he was more hurt by PurrPurr not knowing him than -my- actions
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth shrugged. Standing up, he reached for his spear. "It's not my concern," he said languidly.
Kalindaralaea: ((How close is Mordath?))
Sabin Duvert: *Probably about 6-8 feet away*
Sabin Duvert
: *Mordath eyes the spear cautiously*
Sabin Duvert
: Then why did you come.
Sabin Duvert
: *he says flatly, eying him carefully*
Kalindaralaea
: ((Eeep, no he's not gonna throw it. He's gonna leave, so if you wanna break his icy shell, Mor's gonna have to shock him out of it by being closer and grabbing him or something...))
Sabin Duvert: ((aaah))
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth turned back, eyes cold. "Because you asked. Strange... once that was enough."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath frowns* It was.... I had just assumed that perhaps there was a stronger bond of caring for the reason you were there... .and if you believed us to be allies why is it that one word from my mouth that carried no ill will towards you has shattered this so easily>
Sabin Duvert
: If I had known this alliance were to be so fragile... *he trails off, shaking his head bitterly*
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth shrugged. "There isn't much I won't do for my allies. You asked for my help, so I gave it, no matter that I cared nothing for your sister. Actions speak louder than words, Mordath. Yours said enough." He began to walk away.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath fumes, this not going as planned, and starting to get angry, losing his grasp on all those who he even remotely cared about*
Kalindaralaea
: ((Angry, yay ^_^ Grab teh Roth!))
Sabin Duvert: ((he probably will)
Sabin Duvert
: *Mordath grabs roth by the shoulder* Do not turn your back on me! *his eyes are burning, but also begining to well with tears as hard as he's trying to hold it back* Apparently I was mistaken as well. I thought I had finally found someone to understand me - who could read my Self beneath my interests and my actions.
Kalindaralaea
: The heat of Mordath's hand on his shoulder began to crack Roth's icy shell. He spun back to Mordath, eyes blazing with mixed pain and fury. "Maybe you should let me," he snarled, though his voice seemed closer to tears. "You're so smart - shouldn't you have thought it would be better if I didn't care rather than if I did? Shouldn't you worry about what I'll do?! You keep saying I should understand you," he screamed, tears now escaping to run down his face. "But you don't understand me at all! I'm not like you, I can't react the way you do, the way you expect me to. I don't know anything about the things you take for granted - sisters and friendship and feelings..."
Kalindaralaea: He wanted to step back, but couldn’t help stepping closer. His head dropped down and Astaroth looked as young as he truly was. A quiet, lost voice said, "Maybe it’s better this way."

((Cause like Mordath said last night – he really is just a kid after all.))

Sabin Duvert: *mordath winces... his voice a choked whisper, and he pulls a hand up to his face, the aloneness really sinking in.... and the thought of what just might happen if PurrPurr -did- die....* I... dont' want to be alone, Astaroth.... I thought.... that after meeting you and Rae... things would be better.... but now I'm not so sure.... It feels so good to have people to talk to - I had only just started to meet people like the two of you I could talk to.... to perhaps trust... but now it just seems to cause more pain.... And I Started to wonder... if perhaps you were right about it not being worth the pain of having friends... But... I wanted to try one last time.... I feel so conflicted sometimes... two oppposing things I want so badly.... and I have to keep asking if I'm making the right choices.... if there is a right choice....
Kalindaralaea
: "I wouldn't know," Astaroth replied softly, "...about 'right' choices. I don't think I've made many." It was gravity, he decided. Gravity and Mordath's hand still on his shoulder that was still tugging him closer - like the stupid book last night. Leaning forward, he rested his forehead on Morion's chest. "Don't push me away again," he mumbled. "No one else understands me like you..."
Kalindaralaea: ((squees and huggles Roth plushie happilly... he finally lets me makes him nice... ))
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath bites his lip, telling himself that he will NOT cry, and nods slowly, his whisper cracking a bit as he responds* I will not push you away, Astaroth.... I don't know if I've made many right choices either... but I want to.... I just.... it's hard to tell which voice is the right one sometimes.... *he sighs* YOu understand me better than any other as well, Astaroth.... I've just been very... tired recently... and worried....
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth nodded, a strange movement against Mordath like this. "So tired," he whispered back., eyes closing One arm rose to not quite hug Mordath, but grab onto the material at his side - almost a hug. "Tired... so many nightmares... Soon..." Astaroth mumbled to himself.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath's brows crease in concern, and he reaches a hand around him (for support ^_~)* Nightmares....? *and quieter* What is soon...?
Kalindaralaea
: Warm again, and feeling safe and coocooned, Astaroth half drifted into sleep. "Nightmares... the gate.. broken statue... Him." He shuddered. "He's not... taking care... Soon. They're calling... soon." The 'Him' sounds capitalised, someone very important.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath listens carefully to what sounds like a half-dream half-prophetic speach, and wonders if it has anything to do with Astaroth finding his book the night before, and holds him, his mind racing with questions anew <Gate? Broken statue...?> *quietly, comfortingly he asks* Who is calling you, Astaroth...? what are they saying?
Kalindaralaea
: "Dunno," he tried to think. "Important... always there... Dunno who, but..." He blinked, suddenly more awake. He straightened up (but didn't move his hand), eyes wide. "I have to go there. I have to... find something, or fix something. I have to go!"
Sabin Duvert: *mordath blinks, looking confused but attentive* What's going on? Do you even know where or what you need to do?
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth nodded, eyes vacant, voice a little unsteady. "I have to go back... I have to go to Hell."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath blinks* You... what?! Back to -Hell-?
Kalindaralaea
: Shocked, Astaroth glanced up at Mordath. He was taking this rather badly, for someone who knew Astaroth was a demon in his past life. "Yes," he said softly. "That's what I keep seeing... Those gates, that seemed familiar. Those are the Gates to Hell."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath knew he was a "demon" but wasn't quite sure how literal Astaroth was being until just now, and he nods slowly, taking it in* Do you know what is going on...? Why you need to go there...? even how to go there?
Sabin Duvert
: and what of Arkoth?
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth considered. "I think I remember how. It's not finding the Gates that's hard, just the getting in - and I won't have problems there. Once I'm in though..." That would be harder. He'd been reading those demonology books and he guessed he wouldn't have an easy time making his way through Hell.
Sabin Duvert: Once you're through.... they'll know their own, won't they?
Kalindaralaea
: "I think I'll know what it is I'm meant to do once I'm there... Like it'll be familiar," he tried to explain. "Yes, the Gates will open for any true demon. It's getting around that's harder." He paused, and whispered, "Arkoth..." This man with a piece of Mordath's soul, and Raeith's. "I worry -" Oh crap, that was out loud, wasn't it? He would worry, if Mordath was facing Arkoth while Roth was away. But that didn't mean he wanted everyone knowing.
Sabin Duvert: *mordath blinks at the "worry" but says nothing* Why would it be difficult to get around if you are one of them?
Kalindaralaea
: "I'll wait..." he offered. "I'll help with Arkoth... and... maybe Mordath can help me after that?" he offered tentatively, looking up with soft eyes. "Mordath and I will prove we can be allies."
Sabin Duvert: *he smiles softly* Thank you... for your assistance... and yes.... you are my ally... and perhaps my friend as well, Astaroth.... I would help you as you help me...
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth snorted lightly. "Well, I was killed, you know," he said automatically, forgetting Mordath didn't know. Hell, Astaroth hadn't even really known until he said it.
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath opens and closes his mouth, thinking carefully* We were all killed.... somehow...
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth smiled as Mordath agreed they should help one another. "I'm... glad..." he whispered the last word strangely. So foreign... but true, this time. Smirking lightly, he teased, "Maybe Morion got sick of you mating with his wife."
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath opens and closes his mouth, a bit shocked that he said that, but smiles nonetheless, shaking his head* I don't think Morion was Oberon....
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth frowned. "I wonder who was... Another fa'e? Wouldn't they hate you and your sister then?"
Sabin Duvert: *He ponders* Purr has wondered about if there is an Oberon among us.... she doesn't think so - not everyone has become a Fa'e.... though regardless - as she has said, the past is the past, and we have our own lives now to live - hoepfully with some of the insight that we can gain from the past
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth nodded thoughfully and then smiled. "Maybe that will be us soon, too," he offered. Grabbing Mordath's hand, he tugged th other fa'e back in the direction of the house. "After all, now you know your name and new magics, and I might find my answers in Hell..."
Sabin Duvert: *he smiles widely* I hope so! Now with these pieces, perhaps the rest will all fall into place - I just hope that I like the picutre that these pieces form...
Kalindaralaea
: Astaroth shrugged. "If not... This is a new life. You can choose to be as you like, whether that is who you used to be or someone new." He smiled back at Mordath confidently. "I like who Mordath is now. So even if Mordath doesn't like who is used to be, he can still be who is now. And that will be alright."
Kalindaralaea: ((And I can spell/type.use proper grammar, really *dies as she rereads* ))
Sabin Duvert: *Mordath smiles genuinely* Yes... that is the truth.... regardless of who I was.... I can be who I want now.... though I can't deny that we fa'e are more strongly tied to our pasts than most others... and perhaps there is a reason we have been brought back..... though time will tell I suppose
Sabin Duvert
: ((lol - no worries))
Kalindaralaea
: ((And I think we both have to get going, so let's say they went back, Mordath left in a good mood, Kali didn't have to kill anyone, etc. And if Smoke's on tomorrow, Roth will be in a good enough mood to help Morion with the book.))
Sabin Duvert: ((*nods* This is a good wrap point - and I'm glad that it ended like this ^_^ ))
Sabin Duvert
: ((spiffy :D ))
Kalindaralaea
: ((I'm so relieved... Roth is so random with his moods ^^;; Hahaha, that'll prolly be the last time he's so nice though... He;ll grow up soon and then things'll be different. ))
Kalindaralaea: ((*saves file*))
Sabin Duvert: ((lol ^_^ ))
Sabin Duvert
: *saves as well*
Sabin Duvert
: ((will you post or I?))
