The Trance of Death
by Faeriserena
Within it I learned.
Within it I taught.
Learned how to know of things I shouldn’t have.
Taught a curious boy
of things he wanted to know.
How to disobey the ones I love.
Things
that frighten others of his realm.
Learned how to remove myself from
society.
Taught him for my
own gain,
How to kill myself for something else.
And
his loss.
Within it I grew.
Within it I
hungered.
Grew out of my world and into another.
Hungered for the
pleasure I could gain.
Within the padlock of my subconscious grew the knowledge
of another language.
Within his locked
mind I planted a deadly seed.
The language I would try to kill myself with.
The
deadly seed that could open the door between our worlds.

Taught
the precious words to give me a body.
Again curiosity lured me to the forest’s heart.
Finally, he is
ready.
Again an unknown language whirls through my mind,
The chance of an
eternity flows through him.
My eyes squint through the darkness,
My
one and only chance to gain access to his feeble world.
Thorns spring from my arms in anticipation,
If only he would
hurry!
Or is it fright?
Faster!
Something tells me tonight, it is time.
Finally!
My feet stop suddenly, sending me down.
Now
to say the spell flawlessly.
As I stand air whistles through me creating the unknown
words of my
Careful, don’t
mangle them.
Voice?
My future depends on
your perfection!
The shadows seem to dance around me, until everything is a
blur.
Just a little bit
more,
Spine-tingling chanting screams through my head.
We’re almost there!
The evil trance throws me to the dirt,
Now to finish,
Whispering the last few
And,
Words.
It’s done, ye-NO!
How could this have happened?
