The Eye of a Child

By Yui_Himiko

Mind freely soaring
Along the distant skies
Plunging the depths of learning
Fire of energy blaze thine eyes

Naïve heart, always trusting
A faint smile plastered on thy face
Laughs of mockery not heeding
Happiness filled the passing days

Gifted with a mind yet diminutive
So young with innocence pure
Yet with an imagination so active
In a trap, so easy to allure

Dark creatures invading the night
Inciting fear on everything that live
Yet uncannily fancies the sight
Of a child wanting to believe

If giving up and weakness
Is what defines a child
Then what crafted this braveness
And an imagination so wild?

Unaware of the dangers he’s going to face
As he traveled distant skies
The fire of energy continued to blaze
In the power of this child’s eyes
