LOVE AND BEGGININGS

BY: EASTWOLF

Ambrose Maurlais, always stayed
in the shadow of his brother Dreu.
Dreu the favorite in his gaze,
Ambrose doomed to be number two.

Dreu, in his parent’s eyes,
Was perfect in every way
He was the son who could tell no lies
And would always get an “A”

Ambrose was always just behind
His brother’s shadow to great to stir
And his parents, blinded by Dreu’s shine
Treated Ambrose like a cur.

Then one day in class he saw,
A girl to whom he would give his heart
Not chance this meeting, but perhaps God’s law,
That here in school their love would start.

Angelina had grown up to her dismay,
In a lower class home with a mom and no dad
And while her mother’s “dirty” job kept her out all day
it left Angelina with a reputation to be had.

As time went these two love birds grew tight,
And they saw that their love was meant to be.
But soon to arise was a horrible plight,
Which would make their bond’s strength all to easy to see.

As the full moon rose, and the evening set in
Ambrose began to feel strange and alone,
A searing pain struck him from within,
And he felt himself twisting through screaming and moans.

When he opened his eyes what he saw made him scream,
Where his hands had been he saw furry paws,
And as he wondered if it was a dream.
He heard his family coming, after hearing his awe.

In fear, Ambrose ran from his home to the street,
Where he trembled and wondered “what has happened to me”.
He then decided whom it was he must meet,
The only person who may accept him in way he may be.

At the time, Angelina was asleep like a log,
When her dog began to bark at the street
And when she got up to look what she saw was a dog
Whose body was quivering from his head to his feet.

When she opened to door and saw the dog meant no harm,
Though she that he was a wolf, from his size.
And Angelina saw that this wolf was alarmed
And he dashed to her computer to her shocking surprise.

What this animal did next left her amazed and in awe,
As the wolf began typing, and “help me” appeared,
And when it was the word “Ambrose” she saw,
Angelina realized why the wolf seemed so full of fear.

Though most people now would have ran away,
Angelina loved Ambrose now and ever more.
And together in her room they decided to stay,
Till morning when Ambrose was human once more.

So together they stayed from beginning to end.
One human, one werewolf, both in love with each other.
And although their lives would be difficult to fend.
Ambrose had one thing that was lacking in his brother.
