A Stormy Gaian Night
When you're younger then the tree in the front yard, or even the car in the driveway, nothing matters to you. You do anything you want, when you want, or at least try, and you do it despite what anyone older then you say's. Gavin has this concept figured out and mastered. Gavin is the son of an Anju named Sabin and a Kitsune named Kamiki, which gave him very distinct features. His eyes were two colors; the left one was a purplish blue, and the right a moderately dark red. He has his mother's bright white tail and ears; he also has hair of the same color which is short and ends just above the eyes, and then stretches down the side of his face to just below the chin. In addition he got his fathers need to control, and manipulate. Other then the eyes, ears, and tail, he turned out looking like any other kid would. He was white, normally built, and is just like any other kid his age.
Gavin usually stayed around the house all day, at least that's what he wanted you to think. As in matter in fact Gavin was rarely within the house. He was usually playing near the ocean, and playing with friends. He would occasionally sneak back in the house to use the restroom, eat lunch, maybe even steal a cookie, or rather a couple of cookies that happened to be lying around the kitchen. Every once in a while Gavin would venture further then the confines of the neighborhood, and would disappear for several hours unnoticed. Dinners were his choice. Toys were his choice. Just about anything that he understood was his choice to do, it was his choice when to get something, and when he couldn't he would sometimes even steal. Yet, the boy, while mischievous, is anything but atrocious, he has manners, and can be nice, and usually is. He is actually an exceptional leader, and an exceptionally good persuader; he can make anyone do just about anything he wants. He will usually sell a couple of stolen cookies for some gold, which he turns around and buys small things his parents wouldn't notice. Not that there really isn't anything wrong about the selling part, he just doesn't want his parents to know where all the cookies have gone to, along with a good deal of other little snacks, and small household items.

It was a dark and stormy night; wind blew from the east onto the house, making sounds that only children can mistake as monsters. The house shook from thunder, lightning was frequent, and the mother of all storms was upon the Duvert household. Yet, for some reason Gavin wasn't home yet, or rather Gavin never returned from his unknown trip. He got the idea that evening before that he wanted to launch fireworks off of the coast and try to hit Gambino’s tower. But, for some reason he hadn't returned, and this is when Kamiki walked into an empty room, to find her only son gone.

Gavin was taking shelter from the vigorous storm with a friend in a shack outside of Isle de Gambino. The shack was small, dark, and musty, but was big enough to hold two children and a stray dog. The two didn't know the dog was with them, so for now they thought they were safe. Gavin's friend was about Gavin's height, looked generally like Gavin, except he had red hair. His tail was slightly longer then Gavin's, something Gavin was envious off, and actually contemplated painting it or maybe just chopping some of it off. His name was Dillon, and he was a very mischievous Kitsune. Which of course made them very good friends. Dillon was currently resting toward the back of the shack, his short red hair resting just above his eyes, he looked peaceful, but Gavin wasn't ready for sleep yet.
"Hey wake up." Said, Gavin as he nudged Dillon lightly, then more forcefully as his attempts failed.
"What?"
"Uh, I don't know." This statement was followed by a heavy sigh, which was promptly followed by a heavy sigh from Dillon.
"Then why the hell did you wake me?"
"I don't know. I guess I was bored."
"Does the little baby need a bedtime story?" This was said in a very childish nagging way that only aggravated Gavin. Gavin relinquished the thought of pouncing on his friend, and started telling stories of a scary woman with no name, which was basically a poor attempt at turning Dillon into the baby he was just caused. For the most part it worked, but after the story it was finished Dillon decided to tell one, Dillon told the story in a way that would guarantee to scare Gavin. He spoke in a voice that was a little above a whisper, and his eyes were squinting in an evil sort of way, that only added to the mysterious story he was telling.
"It was a dark and stormy night. Much like tonight. An old man was walking down the road to the Isle. He passed many strange trees, and the shadows from the trees were strange and weird. As he walked by the lake on the road to the Isle, a strange thing happened. A figure pounced on him. It was a werewolf." Gavin's ears dropped, and a small amount of worry crossed his face, but he quickly hid the look, hopefully before Dillon saw his face. Gavin failed, Dillon put all he got into the next segment of the story to try and make the story even scarier then it was. "Yes, a werewolf, and a large one at that. It pounced on the old man, tearing his organs to shreds, but not the important ones. The creature slowly started eating each toe. Then started eating his head. Until the wolf finally killed his victim."
Gavin's face was full of worry again. He tired calming himself down, but it failed, Dillon was about to start up again before Gavin broke in. "That was a long time ago though, right?"
The response from Dillon was quick. "No."
"Then when did it happen?"
"I don't know, but I know it wasn't very long ago." Dillon continued on with the story, a little irritated that he was cut off; the story wasn't going to have its full impact on Gavin. "Rumor has it that werewolf's only come out on stormy nights. And every time there is a sighting of one it's always around here." Dillon gave up, he ended it horribly, and he wondered if Gavin even heard him, judging by the look in his face it didn't seem like it, but Gavin spoke.
"Don't werewolves come out during full moons?"
Once again the response was quick, most likely adding to Gavin's fear. "No, they definitely only come out on dark and stormy nights like these."
"Oh."
They decided shortly after that, that it would be good to get some sleep, even though they should have returned home, it was still storming, and they didn't want to get wet. Gavin crept into a corner, curled up, and rested his head on a soft tail. The owner of the tail, a harmless dog, barked loudly. Gavin reacted quickly by screaming, then getting up, turning around and sprinting out onto the cold, wet beach. The dog, a harmless Golden Retriever barked again, and ran after Gavin. Dillon woke up from all the commotion, noticed the running dog, leaped up and ran after Gavin, putting himself in front of the dog. The dog itself forgot why it was angry and just wanted to play with Gavin and Dillon, and ran after them barking joyfully. The rain was falling hard but that was the least of Gavin's, and Dillon's problems, they were running from what they thought to be there death.
"It's the werewolf," yelled Dillon.
"Duh. Keep running I know where we could lose it."
"Okay."
Unfortunately the only place Gavin knew he could lose the dog was far away, near Bass'ken Lake, and he had only been there with his parents. He also knew that there was nothing from where they currently were and the lake. It was going to be a long couple of miles. They ran and ran, sweat was pouring from their faces, each of them was in pain, and was especially vigorous around their sides, yet they continued to run, the dog still followed in close pursuit. Finally, Gavin saw his destination. The lake came up over the horizon, it was large, but not that large, he eyed a shack on the far side, and told Dillon that was where they were to go. As Gavin, and Dillon were running along side of the lake their breathing became heavy, and they were also slowing substantially. They finally reached the door to the shack; they swung the door open, and stumbled into it. Dillon kicked the door hard, which closed it right before the dog could get in. Both of them collapsed into a furry of heavy breathing, and painful coughing.
"Well, that was fun," Dillon said in short breath, regretting he said anything because it was followed by another series of painful coughs. Gavin rolled his eyes, and tried to get up, but found his legs didn't want to, and collapsed once again.
"We have to get home, its late," Gavin finally managed to stutter out.
They both tried to get up, they both failed. They both tried again, and only could manage to sit up.
"Oh, screw this, good night."
"All right," replied Gavin, and they were asleep within minutes.

Gavin stirred a little, his head turned into the sunlight, which woke him up fully. He turned face up, and sat up wearily. His body ached, his eyes hurt, and his throat was dry. He woke up Dillon, and they headed outside, hungry, thirsty, and longing for home. It was almost noon, and the lake was fairly busy, people stared at them as they headed out of the small shack, and down to the lake to drink the dirty water. After this they stepped back to examine their current situation.
"Okay, Gavin, do you have any idea how to get home?"
"I think. We come here all the time. The only problem is I never paid much attention to the way we did get here."
"Okay lets just head somewhere."
"I think we usually come from Barton Town, which is that way."
They headed south toward Barton Town, where they met a young women, that goes by the name of Piki. Gavin turned around at the sight of her, but it was to late.
"Oh my god, Gavin!"
Gavin winced and turned around.
"Oh my god! I thought I would never see you again, oh my god, I just can't believe it, come here, and give Piki a big hug."
Gavin winced once again, and decided to fight Piki. "No, I'm to old to hug, and definitely to old to hug you."
Piki jumped forward, and hugged Gavin. "Oh, Gavin you're so cute."
Gavin just stood there limp; he decided to just wait it out, which became increasingly hard since Piki wouldn't let go.
"Please stop hugging me," Gavin said in a dry voice.
"Never, at least not until you hug me back."
Gavin hugged back quickly and fell to the ground as he tried to fast to escape Piki's arms. Piki then continued on now with at least a point.
"So where are your parents?"
Gavin responded in a confident believable manner that he was so good at accomplishing. "They let us go down to Barton Town to get some candy, they said that I could go alone but only if Dillon came along."
"Where are they?"
"They're over on the far side of the lake, behind the big tree having a picnic. You can't see them from here."
"Okay, I am going to go down and ask if I can watch you guys for the afternoon, were going to have so much fun, wait here Gavvy!"
Gavin said ok, and watched as Piki walked around the lake, and then he sprinted away, Dillon following close behind. They ran until they were sure that Piki wasn't following them, and went inside a familiar candy store to buy some candy.

Piki came up to the large tree making sure to say hello before actually showing herself, when she got no reply she peeked behind it and found nobody there. She then looked over to the other side of the lake to find that Gavin was long gone. Piki, with a large frown stretched across her face, sat down, and watched the lake.

After buying a couple gold pieces worth of candy, Gavin and Dillon left and headed home down the now familiar road that they usually traveled from day to day to retrieve candy. After a short while Gavin and Dillon split up to go to their homes and face their angry parents. After facing a werewolf, and Piki, Gavin was glad to finally see home in the distance. He couldn't wait to see his parent's faces as he entered, he was hoping for a sigh of relief, a big hug, and a nice cup of cocoa. A smile appeared on his face at the thought of the cocoa. He opened the door to find one relieved Kamiki, and one very angry Sabin.
Kamiki bent down and gave Gavin a huge hug. Sabin sighed loudly at the sight of Kamiki's reaction, and stormed off to his study, slammed the door shut and wasn't heard again for a long time. Kamiki continued to hug Gavin. "You know, you had us worried."
"Yes," said Gavin in an embarrassed tone.
"Okay," she stopped hugging Gavin, got up, and started leading him to the kitchen. "Come, lets drink some cocoa, and after that we can discuss you're punishment."
Gavin smiled weakly, and put his head slightly down, as Kamiki patted him on the head. "Oh...mom"
