Only Way Out
a poem about what happened
to Richelle Winter
after the splicing incident
and her contact with spirits

The wind is still
Beneath the moonlight
The path of the hovering
Unknown in sight…

It floats in white
I gaze in red
It moves, it glides
It whispers, it said…

The secrets of the dark
The seals of fate
Snow-like shadows
Fear-loving innate

In just a snap
My life is stirred
Once an upright man
Now a creature furred

Yet to find a reason
Is too early for now
An easy way out
Fate would not allow

Yet to return back
Is an option
But my desire to be recognized
Relinquish my affections

Mist enveloped me
I don’t know where to go
Even if fear and doubt echoes
I have to go home, I know
